Install Fest update

The Install Fest was a success ... of sorts. We were few in number but the geekdom was off the scale. We had about 17 or so people there and we were able to help about 3 people get an install going. One of the users was brand new to Linux and it was exciting to see her reactions to what it was able to do. We hope to have some pictures up in the next few days or so.

w00t we have books

Thanks to the great folks at O'Reilly we have some books that we can use for door prizes at the Install Fest this weekend. To be honest I would love to have half of these for myself >:) Here is the list that we got.

Linux Kernel in a Nutshell, 1Ed

Thanks again O'Reilly.

Install Fest 2008

We are going to be having an Install Fest on Jan. 12th from 3:00PM - 6:00PM EST at East Side Technical School. This will not be an Ubuntu only event. If you have another distro that you are needing help with then bring it along and we will do our best to help you get it up and running.

Things to bring:
1) PC to install on. This includes your monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
2) If possible bring a copy of the distro that you want to install.

We do plan to order pizza at some point through the evening and all are welcome to eat with us.
